Got a little quandry about which DSLR to get my son in law as he has stated he is not bothered if it is either Canon or Nikon.
It will be a fresh start for him so no problem about having old kit.
I have been looking at several cameras for him as i know a 'little' more than him but he has used a DSLR at several points in his life so is not a complete novice.
He has been to a camera shop and tried several and that is why he likes both Canon and Nikon. He didnt like Sony or Pentax.
A few he liked were 40D and 50D and a Nikon D90. He said he liked how they felt but most of all he liked the top screen. I offered him my 550D but he didnt like that one bit! :bang:
So, which to go for and why?
40D seems to be very popular and reading around some prefer it to the newer 50D. I told him its not all about MP's.
He has a family so will use it for that. The wife and I will be buying the 'body' and he has said he will get a lens, probably a kit lens for now.
Which one and why is the question i have on my mind. I am glad he only liked those and not several more! I have been reading up on pros and cons but it is all beyond me. lol
Budget is not more than £300-£400 for the body, hopefully less.
Any guidance would be very much welcome. Thanks
