Query: TC with Canon IS L Macro

Just to give that extra length, looking at a Kenko 1.4TC with this lens....on a 5D2 and 50D....

Has anyone opinions on this combination?

You'll get slower focusing 140mm f/4 - what is the point? Unless you want a slightly longer working distance macro, which would work

True but since the minimum focus distance stays the same you'll also have a 1.4:1 lens. Not sure how it would affect quality though.

The minimum focus distance is actually longer as it increases by an amount equal to the physical length of the TC....the working distance remains the same.

I use this combination regularly on a 7D - works well and there is no noticeable loss of AF speed / quality. I often add extension tubes as well to get in REALLY close
