Question about a Lens Adapter

Hello Everyone,

I was just given a Tokina At-X 50mm-250mm 1:4-5.6 Lens. I have a Canon EOS 350d camera and the lens doesn't fit. I have tried to do some research to find a adapter for the lens so that I can use it on my camera. I am having a very hard time coming up with a definitive answer of what adapter I need. Does anyone have a clue as to what adapter I should buy? Thank you for your help!

Tokina made lenses to fit several different lens mounts. Until you can find out what camera the lens was built to fit it's going to be impossible to determine which adapter you need - or whether an adapter even exists.

Do you know what camera the person that gave it to you was using?

Could you take 2-4 in-focus images of the lens mount from different angles (end-on and from the side) and post them in this thread so we can see what it looks like and try to figure out what camera it was intended to fit?

If you look at the rear of the lens, the mount end, there is a circular black (or dark grey) part which should be engraved. Most of the rear end is chrome.
There may be something like 'N/AIS' which will show which mount the lens is for.
