Question about Canon 100mm Macro hood

Don't have a hood for this yet and after looking at the recommended ones they seem to be big ugly mothers.

Does anyone know if a petal shaped hood would fit the lens, something like the one for the 24-105 L Lens.

They are big for a reason. I have one and not too bad. Why go for petal shaped one when it may not do the job. Substance over style.

Bought a Marumi Hood for mine £17 exactly the same as the canon one for £30

The hood for the 60mm macro fits the 100mm and is significantly shorter. I use it in preference to the proper hood.

Thanks Frank, might have a look at one of those, the 100mm Macro Hood is nearly as big as my 70-200 L hood :bonk:
