Beginner Question about editing

Hi, I'm new to the photography world but am really enjoying getting out there and taking pictures. One of the things I'm struggling with is editing photos though. I don't understand a lot of the settings but have been playing around with some photos today and one in particular I was really happy. I'm hoping someone could take a look at what I've done and help me out a bit? All I did was increase the contrast, colour balance and temperature and then cropped it slightly because the RAW photos on my camera seem to have some sort of lens border on them? Any way I would appreciate any one's pointers and tips with editing please :).

Camera: Panasonic DMC-TZ60
Editing software: Darktable

What do you mean by lens border?
I don't have than model, but my TZ80 shows the same as on camera as I see in camera raw ( slightly colour difference from the jpeg preview you see on the camera) I don't get a border.

In the corners it had a sort of black border like you could see the lens. Turns out I needed to apply lens correction which has sorted that out now.
