This may be a stupid question (so I apologise in advance) but can I use my Nikon lenses on older nikon film cameras? I have the 24-70 2.8 and have pre-ordered the new 70-200 2.8 vrII.

I am thinking about getting a film camera and it would be great if I could get one that could use these lenses

certainly with anything past about 1990 there won't be to many issues. For imformation both the 24-70 and the current 70-200 focused fine on a F80 and an F5

G lenses may be a problem on older Nikon film bodies - they don't have an aperture ring. AF and AF-D should be OK, although some of the focus rings are tiny.

To be honest, I would take the lenses I wanted to use to a bricks'n'mortar shop and try them on the body(s) I was interested in buying to make sure they work on them - most shops also give a warranty on their 2nd hand kit, something that most e-bay sellers don't do.
