Last week I thought I'd take the plunge and finally upload some test images to alamy. So I prepared 4 images and uploaded them on the 9th Nov.

They're still sitting awaiting QC some 7 working days later.

I thought I'd email member services to check I hadn't made a mistake with the upload and I've had no reply in a day - not even an automated acknowledgement.

Just wondered if this was typical and I should just wait longer or what other peoples experiences were.

7 days is not unusual for a first or early submission. If you upload regularly and pass regularly you will get through QC faster.

Often, but not always a long delay in QC is indiactive of a fail, but I'm not sure initial QC normally takes that long either way. It may just be that they're a little swamped at the mo

That kind of was my thinking - either a fail or just volume of uploads.

I'm fairly chilled about the pass/fail situation - more worried that I've somehow messed up the upload!

When the upload has gone a bit wonky (for me caused by loss of internet connection) It says something like "images arrived" and number of images has N/A and in about 24 hours it sorts itself out.

I was rejected twice early on and both times I received an email on the Monday morning.

Not that I have uploaded a few times I find I am passing within 24 hours.

Cheers Stuart

They were saying they had 300 ish new users sign up each week so I'd imagine there's a backlog starting. My first one took ages but it was ok in the end.

To be honest I'm not sure how many of the searches done on Alamy are togs doing market research. I find it hard to belive that I have 1,300 hits on one of my photographs as they claim!

When you order there stats by sales the numbers are tiny compared to the 20.7 milloin images they say they have got!
