Question on Sigma lens

Hi there

anyone used/got feedback on a Sigma 28-200m D Silver for a Nikon

Any good ? Problems?

I briefly used one YEARS ago, back in 2004 or roundabouts. I used it on an F5, and from memory wasn't amazed with it. Was quite soft and fringey. Plus remember on your D80, it will be form about 43 - 300, so you loose the wideangle. If you're looking for a general purpose lens, I'd suggest the 18-135. I'd keep mine but I want to get a bigger wildlife zoom so has to go.
