I have only just joined this forum so I hope that you don't mind me hitting you with a question straight away that I would like some thoughts and opinions on.
I took a photograph a couple of years ago which I was quite proud of so I used that photo to create a personal avatar for myself to use on shooting forums. As the original photographer and owner of the photo it is my understanding that i naturally own the copyright to the photo in question. If that is the case would I own the copyright to the avatar that I created from that photo?
If I do own the copyright to that personal avatar then where do I stand if someone else is found to be using that avatar without my permission and refuses to stop using it when asked to by me please? Maybe I should add that I have never given anyone permission (Verbally or otherwise) to use this photo or the avatar in question.
This might seem a little trivial but the avatar in question is personal to me.
