ive secured tomorrow pm off work, the other halfs looking after the kids and im eager to get out n about to take some snaps.... (kent/ south coast area)

have heard plenty of good feedback from chillham, with plenty of different attractions at your disposal, im just trying to gain some inspiration on where else to go..... im keen on landscapes (although not done many previous), love beachy/pier/boats shots, and fast cars etc etc-

i dont wanna spend the afternoon driving around looking for ideas as i normally do, im trying to plan some kind of itinary so i can comeback achieving something im proud of rather than some mismatch individual shots

could anyone give photogenic ideas please
thanks in advance

fab idea- just googled and theres some stunning scenery...

have you been before??? any ideas on accessibility on ground looking up shots and high up looking down shots, or is it relatively restrictive there.... i'd aim to spend a while there trying to capture different compositional shots etc

Afraid not buddy, haven't researched it a whole load either, just had it on the list of places to shoot.

I believe there is a car park at the top of Beachy Head which could be a good base for the high up stuff.

I also think you can get some good views of the cliffs from some of the cliffs further west but don't know much more. Have a search on flickr for some ideas on where to shoot from

Would be good to see the results if you head down that way.

doing some more research into beachy head now.... gonna try and build up a portfolio of pics over the next 6 months so may even have a trip down, then revisit another time to improve on the original pics....

im getting the impression getting to the bottom isnt possible- all i can find is stories of suicide jumpers falling the 530ft to the bottom and pics of abseiling gear.... i dont think il be quite that adventurous tomorrow lol

I think you can get down to the base from both sides, but the Eastbourne side is easiest. You need to be careful with timings because of the tide.

Also would be a bit careful around the base of those cliffs as they are chalk... not the most stable!

If your really stuck on a way to the bottom try this:

:D

Also watch out for rusty car parts... :(

lol.... il stick to the paths i think...

rusty car parts/wrecks couldbe a secondary theme whilst on location lol

Cuckmere Valley is quite a nice spot. Hope you post some shots up, would like to see how it went :)

This pic is amazing from Beachy Head

Would love to get something like that but those conditions must be incredibly rare!

If you went down this afternoon would be interesting to hear where you went etc as I might head down there this weekend

fab day out- completely knackered.... puting up the pics on photobucket and flickr now..... weather was extremely hot- sun directly overhead, so i struggled with lighting issues etc remember to wear decent footwear as the hills/slopes are treacherous and its a long walk lol

all shots of the day are here

have taken a few im happy with and transferred them onto flickr so should be visible attached to this post....

thanks for the suggestion of the location- you wont be disappointed when you get there!!!

cuckmore valley may be on the list for my next day off

cool pic..... ive got some filter goodies coming over next few days (cokin nd's and various coloured and grad filters) so was planning another trip, either same place or similar location for some longer exposures to see what i can construct....

i was there from about 1 ish and had to walk back over the hills in the dark which i didnt like too much as some of them slopes were lethal but overall it was a chilled day- a little hazy too but peaceful in the fact there wasnt too many people getting in the way off shots etc

Not sure if you saw it but if you park at Birling Gap you can get straight on the beach and then it's not too far to walk up and you will be at the bottom of Beachy Head and the lighthouse etc...

Will go up that way next time I am there I think but didn't get there until quite late in the day anyway
