Quick M42 to F mount question

Hello, a long story short is i have some M42 mount lenses from my old Zenit and would like to use them on my new D7000, i assume THIS is all that is required? has anybody used them? i know its a very small amount of money but i wanted to make sure it won't have any detrimental effects to my nikon?

i understand i need to set aperture manually on the lens, and then just whack the body into manual focus. is it that simple or am i missing something?

I bought an M42 to micro four thirds mount form ebay. Yep, its all manual through the lens, but they work.

Worth noting that with a cheapie M42 to Nikon adaptor, you lose infinity focus - the reason why I can't remember but something to do with mount sizes I think.

So to get infinity focus on a Nikon from a M42 lens, you need to use a good quality adaptor that has glass in it to balance out the optical differences.

True! I have one with glass and no Nikon!
