Quick opinion needed please!

Hi there,

As the title says I just need a quick bit of advice! I have been thinking of getting a new compact camera that gives my more control over the settings, at the moment I just have a real basic canon compact for when I can't my dslr. Anyway a friend has offered me a canon s80 for £80 but he wants an answer tonight as he is seeing a friend tomorrow who may well be interested if offered it. So I have first refusal but want to know your opinions on the camera! I have had a quick google of it and reviews all seem pretty positive. I know it's a few years old now but do you think this would be a good buy and go alongside my 400d?

Yes, I'd say go for it. Its one of Canon's compacts that offers complete manual control, but in a nice and compact package. It will lck todays bells and whistles - it has no HD, small LCD, low ISO range. I suggest you have a quick look on DP review. :thumbs:
 
Thanks Lawrence. I'm not to bothered about the bells and whistles. I'm just after something that will give me better picture quality than my compact at the moment and one that will help me develop my skills!
 
sounds ok to me even if it doesn't work out I dont think you will have much trouble sellin it on
