Quick Question - Could do with an answer ASAP Please - MS Word.

Super quick ...

When using a table in word, is there a way to ensure that the text colour does not revert back to the original colour every time you move to a different cell ?

Example - I have text already in the cell in black. Need to add some in red, but it always changes back to black - and I don't want to have to add all the new stuff and then change colour for each individual cell.

highlight the cells you want in one colour and change the colour

if you want all the cells red then highlight them all and set the colour, then type away.

Nope - that's not it I'm afraid.

The cells already contain text which is black. I am adding text that is red - but it reverts to black text every time i change cell.

If I follow advice above, ALL text would change colour. I need a means of just having the text I am ADDING a different colour!

When I want to add "comments" to an existing table in a different colour, what I do is to insert another column to the right of the existing one and then select the whole column and change the font colour to Red or whatever - this is ideal if you want to highlight actions.........

But if you require the additional words to be in the same column, then you can switch on "Track Changes" under the Tools Menu - making sure you have set up the correct font colour under the options menu. You will have to switch on the Track Changes every time you open the saved document and want to record changes - turn off Track Changes and any additional text will revert back to the original table colour.

Are you trying to use two colours of txt in one cell? Would be easier to use different cells but you can only select one colour. To change from the default select the red in the first cell and use the format painter - now what you need to do is paint the text you want a different colour....

What you are doing seems odd and I'd use two rows of cells to do this - one black one red. then merge the cells.
