Quick question for Nikon 200mm f/2 owners

Did your lens come with one of those 'sock' things which slips over the hood and acts as a sort of lens cap?

(This is from a Nikon 500mm f/4.)

If not, what do you do to keep the front glass dust-free? Are there any decent after-market lens caps or covers?

Unfortunately that turns out not to be the case. The 300 and 200-400 both use the HK-30 hood which has a maximum diameter of 134mm. The 200 uses the HK-31 hood which has a maximum diameter of 153mm. The sock from the 300 or 200-400 doesn't quite fit.

Tell me about it. At least canon have fixed the problem for their Mk II lenses. I wonder if Nikon will copy them?

Thanks. I might have to go down this route if I can't find anything better.
 
I'd get a neoprene optech hood hat, speedgraphics have them in various sizes, just got one for my 500mm f4, £13 ish including delivery
