OK, the lens arrived this morning. First impressions, it looks well made, the hood is a snug fit and the leather pouch might come in handy for something one day.
I'll add to this once I get shooting with it a bit more, I'm full of cold and feel like the proverbial, so not fancying anything more strenuous than pouring the Brandy into my tea.
I think all my lenses are pretty sharp in the right light so my first test with this one was in a shaded area with the inclusion of a traditional rain deflecting umbrella just to keep the back light off the subject.
I shot at 100th, @ f9, ISO 320, hand held with IS. The light was pretty poor as I wanted to try it in what I consider to be less than Ideal conditions were I to be shooting a paid model.
Quite impressed thus far. Here are a couple of shots taken at 50 and 70mm.
