I've just got a radioactive Canon FL 58mm 1.2 from evil bay!:love:

Can't wait!

I need to compare it with my minolta rokkor 58mm 1.4!


If the 1.2 is as good as people say it is then I will be listing my lovely rokkor for sale:wave:
 
It is good but it was designed with full frame 35mm film in mind. When you use it on a crop mirrorless to pluck out 12-16 Mpx from the center wide open keep that in mind :)
 
I'm intended to use it on both M43s and on the Canon 5DII.

I'm liking manual focus, it really slow me down to take time to shoot rather than using the camera like a machine gun!
 
FL/FD lenses don't infinity focus when adapted to EF mount unless the adapter has optical elements in it... And those adapters are pretty awful for IQ.

Without optics, it's like having an extension tube on the lens.. Can focus closer than normally but you lose the infinity focus.

NEX SONY or Samsung NX is probably the best compromise at the moment. A couple years ago there was practically nothing out there. A couple years later :shrug:...
 
The lens has arrived, now I need to wait for the FL/FD to M43 adapter to arrive!

Great condition!!

Will check with some old school FD shooter on EOS to get their recommendation on adapter to the 5DII
 
If that lens was produced today then there'd be a pair of lead underpants in the box too.
