Hi
I recently had a 3 day trip to the Valleys in Wales and though mostly the weather was garbage - still got a few half decent ones that I was 'chuffed' with
cheers Chris

WOW, these are great, had to duck when the first image came up!

Very nice, good panning on the last shot, just out of interest what focal lenght an lens were you using for the Hawk cockpit and Herc shot?

1 and 4 :notworthy::notworthy:

Is that a coffee cup just sitting there on the "dash" of the Herc?

And is it just my imagination or is there absolutely no reflection at all on the windows? As if they are open, or not there?

i like the last one the best, nice set though

Like them all but #4 is great , seeing the passenger trying to keep his horizon and the last one with the Tocano "swapping lanes".

Absolute class mate, your patience paid off and you have every reason to be pleased! (y)

Cracking shots Chris-all excellent :)

1,4 (y) all very good

All great pictures, the two ship is very nice (y).

Steve...

That looks like an Eddie Stobart on the motorway!! It returns!!

Love the pics...especially the herc!! very crisp and clear!

1,4 & 5
Great set very nice (y)
The last one gives you some scale. It just shows how low they do fly

Some good shots there Chris it's a shame we seem to be stuck in the rinse cycle again but we can't do anything about the weather.

Messed it up see seperate thread.

Lovely shot of the Stobart lorry, shame that bloody Tucano got in the way;)

Seriously though, cracking shots.
Dean:)

Awesome shots! In particular the first one :) What camera/lens were you using?

just ace, can't pick one out. They all ring my bell. I hope your proud of them, cos I would be. WOW

Any tips for taking shots like these (other than having your wits about you! ;-)

How about focus and shutter speed?

Cheers,
Ed

For Jets I use Aperture priority, shooting wide open most of the time
and have Shutter priority set to about 160/1 in readyness for a Prop appearing
no time to be messing around with setting when in less than 4 seconds all hell breaks loose and then it over in a flash

take food and drink and lots of warm clothes as it gets mighty cold sat on a perch up a mountain side

especially as you are usually sat pretty still for endless hours losing body heat
so loss of body temp happens every time so be warned lots of layers

and look forward to seeing any aircraft your lucky enough to 'bag'

good luck
Chris

Many thanks Chris - sound advice. How about focus - manual or AF?

 Excellent set of shots especially no 1, that heat haze makes me want to step back or get the eggs out. Well done
