The RAF Red Arrows, BBMF and Typhoon all landed at Southend Airport last week for the airshows at Eastbourne, Shuttleworth and Folkestone. Here's a few images from the weekend:

There's some great images there, and some great old planes

Great set, love the Lancaster ;)

Great set. I particularly like the BBMF. May I ask what your shutter speed was for that shot?

Excellent photos. I actually really like to 727 shot, showing the slats and flaps to good effect.

In the air they were all at 1/250th, my panning isn’t what it used to be.

The ground shot of the Lancaster was 1/160th but the props turn so slowly on low power settings, I probably needed to go much slower but I don’t trust myself not to screw it up. I don’t get to see the Lanc on the ground very often.

Superb shots.... I especially like the 727 approaching. Incredibly modern looking for a jet that's around 60 years old!

Thanks. Most tri-jets look great.

This one had a first flight in July 1983 and was one of the last ones ever built. The second jet operated by them (which will also be based at Southend soon) was *the* final one off the production line.

Great set of shots! I was at the Vulcan open day on the Sunday afternoon and I have a load of shots to go through; don't think I've got anything as good as these though.

Great shots!

I watched saw most of these as they came in to land from my garden as they flew overhead.

Great set (y)
