The Dakota is fantastic especially with one member of the crew having a nosey out of the door

Great shots. For mere mortals like me what sort of lens did you use at what sort of settings? Thanks in anticipation:):)

Thanks for the kind comments guys. :)

Hi Merv, I was using the "Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM" on my Canon 40D.

For the Jets I stuck the 40D into Aperture priority mode keeping the aperture around f8 and letting the camera take care of the Shutter speed (yes I am lazy, sorry) and for the Prop planes I stuck it into Shutter priority and kept the shutter speed around 100 - 125 to get the prop blur while trying to keep it fast enough to keep the image as sharp as possible (more motion blur from the moving planes than my movement I might add!), which was damn hard as I too am only a mere mortal. :)

Great shots, although beware the pixel police ... :p

The only image I think (or maybe hope) would get the pixel police onto me is the Dakota (9) as that does have some dodgy cutting out on it as the original picture had a really nasty sky so I cut the plane out and put it onto another sky, big apologies for my (very) poor PP skills! :(
