Can anyone recommend a good rain cover. It is to fit a 1D MK3 and a Sigma 120-300 2.8.

I was looking as the aqua-tech range but a bit more than i wanted to spend at the moment. The other option looks like the Storm Jackets. Are there others that you can recommend?.

I would also be interested to hear how people who use rain covers get on with them. Do they hinder use of the zoom/focus rings at all?

same seteup I used one of these.. still do using 300 prime

has gap for monopod and hand in for turning focus zoom ring... kept everyhting dry in downpours even

if you can find a UK distrubutor let em know. got mine from us but last time wanted as much again for import duty which i declined.

That was quick.. mine arrived today.. Looks like just the ticket.. hmm obviously not tried it out yet as sunny here :) But happy to know its there in case of rain on sat at game.. Its exactly what it says on the box and should be OK :)

Thought everyone knew?
if not my wife makes them Camo-Macs and also now available in Black
There nuff said LoL

I'm currently using Kata rain covers. The bit that goes over the camera is great and very water resistant, but the lens cover will let water in after a while. They're also fiddly to put on if the rain starts while your out.

I am however going to have a look at the ones that Brian's wife makes. They look excellent.

Simon.

He was answering a question I asked.. I can't tell if your being serious or not?

well hes not a trader, hes pimped his business, and hes got it in his sig. Hes making money from the members. So..serious but with the usual tongue in cheek type way.

To be fair I think he got sucked in as I and others prompted him for the info.. I am only sticking my nose in because I feel partly responsible for getting him to state publicly what he was on about.. Plus the line between this and spamming members is like a million miles apart IMHO :)

I have a stormjacket which I used with my old 1D + lens.
It wasn't cheap at around £35, but bearing in mind it's there to protect a fairly expensive bit of electronics, seems a little odd to skimp. I've always been confused by people with thousands of pounds worth of kit strapping tesco bags and similar around them to save a few bob.
The Stormjacket has drawstrings at either end allowing easy use with the camera viewfinder and lens. Goes with me everywhere now if it might rain and is very user friendly.
