Rapid Strap confusion

I tell thee, that Rapid Strap stuff looks confusing to me.

I really fancy one, but I want to make sure I order the right bits & pieces.

I think that I need an RS7 strap, but does it come with any fasteners ?

If not, I'll go for the FastenR-T1 as both my body and my 70-200 have Manfrotto QR plates attached.

Is this all I need, or have I missed anything ?

They seem to come with the basic tripod screw clip (or mine did) but you'd need to get the extra adapter if you wanted to convert a Manfrotto plate.
 
if in doubt jessops stock them go take a look , i did and ended up walking out with one !

Cheers for that. I think I'll pop into town this week and pick one up, I'm attending a wedding in a couple of weeks and I think it will be the most comfortable way for me to carry the camera.

Warehouse express have an offer on the RS7 at the moment. I got mine yesterday. Haven't used it in anger yet, but if feels like a huge improvement over a neck strap.

I've got one of the quick-straps from ebay. For £15, a lot of the important parts are near enough identical to black rapid ones.
I trust mine to carry my 40D and 100-400.
The plate to attach to the camera is oddly designed, but it works perfectly for me because it happens to balance my 150mm macro very nicely.
You can get a Q-strap and an extra black rapid fastenR (I'll be after the RT-1 for my manfrotto QR plate) for still less than a BR strap alone.

The ebay Q-straps are very well made, and work well in usage but the camera plate that comes with them is a bit industrial looking but it does the job very well. However I got a black rapid FastenR-T1 which so I can keep my Giottos QR plate on the camera. I had to modify the the QR plate though to make it fit.

I can't see the point of paying another £20 different label
 
I've been looking into these too....The quick strap that is...

There are so many on the bay....

Can anyone provide a link to one? Also, is there a way to tell what version is what? I believe there are 3 versions out.....:thinking:
 
Got my 2nd edition quick strap on eBay for about £15. Was from the USA so took a few weeks. Have a hunt around eBay.
 
Right, I've just bought an RS7, and for the life of me can't work out why I never did it sooner. It's brilliant !

I agree, I had two hours of walking around at my daughters sports day today with my D7000, Battery Grip, 70-300VRII and damn it was comfortable carrying that around....One of my best purchases...

Well I picked up one from Jacobs in New Oxford St this lunchtime and had a couple of hours wandering around London with the 7D & 17-55 f2.8 IS. Really comfortable, and it felt really secure.

I'm at a wedding next weekend and I didn't want to be hauling a bag around with me, so this set up, plus by 85mm f1.8 in my jacket pocket will be great.
