Rattling Sigma

Morning all.

Got back from my hols to find my Sigma is rattling (Could have been when Idropped it at The Grand Canyon!) :'(
Insurance won't pay out as I admitted to having it in my luggage in the hold rather than hand luggage :bang:

anyway, there's no obvious signs of damage but it does rattle when shaken and now when I take a shot in a decent sunlight, they are coming out exremely brigh. Almost as though they are over exposed.

Does anyone know of a decent repair centre in London or one where I can reliably send it off for repair (If it turns out it's worth it?)

I do love this lens and am loathe to just let it sit gathering dust even though I bought it used.

Cheers,

Nick

Can't help you on that but would love to see the piccys as off there in 4 weeks :D

Thanks:thumbs:

Wow, hope mine are as good as these LOL
Did you use a polarising filter?

Sigma UK in WGC )welwyn garden city(

There used to be a great little camera center on Kingsland high road but alas it is long gone..

Cheers, nope, it's difficult to get a filter for the Sigma due to the dome on the front of the lens.
Just a bit of messing around in Lightroom

I knew that place. Grew up near there. Shame it went..

Your display picture is awesome!

Anyway, when I read the bit in bold I instantly thought 'knackered diaphragm'. I reckon one of the diaphragm blades that forms the aperture has broken, which is probably why you're getting overexposed pics (aperture not operating properly) and the loose blade(s) being what you can hear rattling about.

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know if this a relatively "simple" and cheap! fix?

Heidi Klum FTW
