Does anyone know if there is a way to see if RAW files were taken sequentially. That is can you tell if images were taken sequentially, and can you show that there are no images missing from the sequence, or is this something can be edited after the fact?

You mean, can the Exif be edited?

I don't know, but I suspect yes. I know that PDF files are not supposed to be editable, but I also know people that have done it.

Another point, while it may be possible the change things, whether or not it's possible to do that and leave absolutely no footprints is another question.

OK thanks, I was hoping it can't be done without leaving a trace so you could be sure that the images are sequential with none missing but I suppose anything is possible.

Cheers.

I've never tried to edit raw EXIF data, but this software - http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ - front ended by this - http://freeweb.siol.net/hrastni3/foto/exif/exiftoolgui.htm - might well allow one to create as much obfuscation as required.

Unless one chooses to use data verification software such as - http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content...erification/canon_data_verification_system.do - then I imagine you would have no idea of changes that might have been made. The camera will need to have had the data verificatin feature enabled when the shots were taken in order for this to be a viable method of checking. I seem to remember reading that Nikon's version of this has been cracked, maybe Canon's too.
