Raw files wont open

Hi ,a couple of days ago i had a problem with my desktop, i had to restore it , .Was in elements 5 this morning and it wont open Raw files ,it keeps saying it's the wrong file type .I can only assume that when i restored the computer the plugin hasn't been reinstalled .I've tried to install Camera Raw 4.1 plugin several times with no result .Anyone have any thoughts on this ,or even a solution

when you say restore, what exactly do you mean? system restore point? Also have you re-installed elements?

Well CS3 wont open RAW's until you update it so i'd look around for an update button and give that a try.

Yeh i restored to a specific date,and no, i didn't reinstall elements 5,should i have?

it's a thought no? to try it - but it is kind of weird how a restore point would affect the opening of a filetype where there was previously no problems

I had problems opening raw files but it seems there is a raw convertor update for adobe. might be an idea to get that installed
