Can anyone tell me hoe to upload a raw file into PS CS5

File/Open provided you have Adobe Camera Raw installed

im not too sure that I do, this may be the problem.
is it an added software that I can buy?

If you check your plugins under the help menu it will show if ACR is installed. if not installed it should be on your PS install DVD.
