Raw?

Hey,

I'm kinda new to photography and was wondering if my pictures that i have are better off raw or need editing. i am aware some may need editing.

Hi Carly

What do you mean by RAW, as all the images on the site in your link are jpgs, do you mean straight out of the camera with no post processing? or the RAW format that you shoot in?

Definetaly need some editing. The horizons are sloping in most of the landscape ones and almost all look like they could do with some sharpening as the look very soft.

What format are you shooting in?

erm format lol ... i dunno i got the camera for my birthday which was like 2 weeks ago. just been playing with the scenes... the sun ones were taken with a sunset mode,

and i meant raw as in no editing done apart from possibly changing the scene on the camera.

You are going to confuse a lot of people as RAW is a format on the the camera like JPG which it seems you are using.

JPG's shouldnt need much editing, as the camera has already processed the image for you, however like I said, your landscape images all seem to have a sloping horizon which is one of my bugbears. Its an easy fix in a photo editing program. Changing the scene mode just sets the camera up in a ball park configuration for the certain type of picture.
