Yes
Arrghhh, damn reading specs have just broke in half, not as if they were being bent, just removing them from my face. 18 months old ray ban frames cos I thought they had a good name and would last, how wrong can you be. Next time it is the cheapest of cheapest frames and I don't care what they look like. Excess on house insurance makes it not worth claiming.

I'd never buy their crap again.

Where did you buy them from - might be worth seeing if they are covered under warranty ? Might be worth seeing if the optician can / will do anything for you as I would have expected any frames to lasts re than 18 months that haven't suffered any abuse ....

Why sacrifice a pair of RayBans to use the frames as reading glasses? I have 3 pairs of genuine RayBans, 2 of them over 20 years old and I'm not easy on specs! Are you sure the frames you've had fail are genuine RayBans? If so, try returning them to B&L for their comments. Worst they can do is say "Tough!" and the best is a whole lot better!

Recently bought a few pairs of reading glasses (car, sitting room chair, bog and office) from Superdrug and Sainsbury's - £10 or so per pair and they do the job just fine! If you have an esoteric prescription, it's probably worth getting a bespoke pair or 2 but for "normal" long sight, the off the peg ones work a treat. Different prescription in the eyes? Buy a pair to suit each and swap the relevant lens (plenty of screw in types available.)

You've been unfortunate, however surely you cannot label all things RayBan crap simply because you've had one bad experience? Really?

Apparently warranty is just for a year. Got them at Vision Express, I'd like to think they weren't selling fake frames Nod. I'll take them back to the shop and see what happens, if no joy it's over to boots for a pair off the shelf.

Just found a old pair of frames but the lens is no use these days. Think I'll see about just getting new glass put in them, bound to save a few quid;) Just bought a Sony RX100, no money left for the important things in life

When I lived in South Africa, I always wore Ray Ban. After three years one of the arms came off. I sent them back to ray ban and they sorted them free of charge.

If vision express wont help, try giving B & L a call and see what they say.

Frank, my wife's just had new specs and was going to get the new lenses put into the old frames but it worked out cheaper to get a whole new pair...
