Raynox DCR-250 or other for £40-50?

I'm tempted to get a Raynox DCR-250 to go on my 70-300 Nikon lens. Would this be a good route to go down at £40 or is there better out there within the price range for macro use?

Any advice is much appreciated.
 
I have one, which does a decent job at macro work. I find the optical quality is very good, just make sure you've got adequate lighting and ideally a good tripod.
 
Thanks Adam, that's really useful. I'll mainly be intending to use it outdoors in decent light with a tripod so hopefully it'll be good for what I want it for.
 
I have the less powerful 150 which I find much easier to use than the 250. You don't need to get as close to insects etc so less likely to scare them off. Equally good IQ as the 250 just not as much magnification and I am very happy with it.
 
If I was to be circa 300mm on the lens would I still need to get close up to the insects with it then? I had seen the 150 however just preferred the pics I'd seen from the 250 personally.
 
I think the 150 halfs or so the min focusing distance, furist I could get focus was about a foot when I tried. I do like mine a lot :-), focus by moving back n forth slightly
