Yes
I have bought a raynox 250, I have used it on must of my lenses and no problems. When I put it on my tamron 17-50 f2.8 I get shots like this one.

Any idea why?

I'm guessing that's at the wide end - does it still do it at the telephoto end?

Seconded.
the raynox is a macro addon longer focal lengths. so at wide ends (same as my 18 - 55) it shows that way, but at the end of the focal range (50/55/200/300) etc it will display a good effect :)

Sometimes the focus can make this happen, if you focus on infinity (it could be the other way round) then it should stop this as focusing can move the filter closer or further away.

Sorry should have put that, it was taken at 50mm, I have a 50mm f1.7 too and it works fine on that.

the lens at its widest should not start at below 50mm, so for example 55-200 would not get this effect, zooming into 50mm will not work,

ps how do i know....had the same problem when i got mine

What's the objective lens diameter ? I get a little vignette at 55mm but over 70 mm none. That's with my 55-250.

The field of view of your lens is greater than the diameter of the raynox, you wont get rid of vignetting using that lens, you need to use a longer focal length lens with a narrower field of view.

I kind of realised I wouldn't be able to use it on that lens, just couldn't figure out why it worked on a 50mm prime but not on 17-50 f2.8 set at 50mm, looking at it now the prime is a lot smaller diameter, will have to get my 18-55mm back out to see what it does on that.

It does that on my 17-50 too!
