As a macro lens is out of my budget for the time being i`m looking at a raynox lens(?) What is the diffeence between the 250 and the 150 ? and what would be more suitable for flowers and bugs? thanks Harvey
 
The difference is in magnification. I use the 250 and it's supurb. It's great with bugs but you have to be very careful with these as they have a very shallow dof!

Yes the 250 has more magnification. You need to get quite close, about a foot away from the subject with one of these.

What lens are you thinking of putting it on? They work best with 50mm + lenses as under that you'll get Vignetting.
 
Perfect on the 70-300. What you get depends both on the Raynox and the focal length, but as general rule the DCR-150 is better for flowers and butterflies, and the 250 for smaller bugs and beetles.

Bigger butterflies anyway ;)

Size of your finger, the DCR-250. Size of your palm, 150.
