Is it possible to use the canon RC-5 wireless remote for a 50D??

I believe not since the 50d does not have built in IR receiver even though cheaper models do. Never understood why that is.

The Hahnel grip for the 50D comes with a IR remote.

Yah there are a bunch of after Market ones that can do it. Forgot about that.

I just went for a wired remote myself.

Yep, an RC-5 Canon remote control.

I told a friend a few weeks before Christmas that I was looking for a wirelss remote for my camera.
