I thought all i had to do was restart the PC with the windows XP disc loaded and away i go, not so, well its not doing it for me.
Can anyone tell me how i can do a complete reboot of my system to original XP settings.

everything is backed up.

I just know its going to be some thing simple, but dammed if i can find it.

Thankls.

is the PC booting from the CD, sometimes you have to select F12 to choose where you boot from.

what sheepy said, if the CD drive isnt set to boot before the hard drive then you wont get the XP setup.

when you first turn on look for an option that says "press X for boot options" then select the CD drive. you may also need to press any key to boot from CD when prompted so pay attention :)

As above really.

If you are needing to get in to the BIOS to alter the first boot to CD, sometimes pressing DEL key can get you there as you are starting the machine up.

Thanks. Will check it out when home.
I thought all i had to do was place the CD into the tray and restart, ???????

yes, as said above, standard bios settings are set to boot from:

Hardrives
CD
Floppy
USB.

You need to alter them to boot from CD first otherwise it will check the hardrive, find a valid windows install and boot that instead :)
