Which lens? A longer lens will generally have a larger and more expensive front element

Or do you mean it is on the body of the lens or the filter thread
 
Or do you mean update the software on the lens? I still don't know the answer, but I suspect you might mean this.
 
It's a Tokina AF400. A rough guess will do. It's just the AF doesn't seem to work.
