The Sigma 35 1.4 is considered a stunning lens.
The Sony 35 1.4 G is considered a bit of a dog! Actually it's not but it's rarely spoken about highly and if you compare the two on a test chart the Sigma would seriously embarrass the Sony.
I have just stumbled across a real world comparison between the two and unless my eyes deceive me there's very little in it. Google translate is needed but the pictures are self explanatory.
