Big post for me as I've not done so in months, here are some recent ones from this weeks photoshoots.

A little bit of background:
The rider in these photos is Phil Auckland, Identity sponsored rider. I've been shooting for Identity bikes this week getting product shots of a new set of Society suspension forks that are still in the prototype stage and also promotional shots of Phil for adverts and their website. We've been to a number of locations, Chicksands trails, Corby Skatepark, Epic Skatepark and Holbrookes Bowls and we're heading to some trails in Birmingham on Sunday that are due to be knocked down due to being a 'health and safety' risk...but I shall keep my views on those politics out of the thread!

Shots 1-2-4 & 7 are brilliant :woot:

What did you light them with ?? :shrug:
 
the shots were all lit with 2 nikon SB-24 strobes fired wirelessly with pocket wizards.
I realise the first lot from the bowls (the night ones) are a little repetitive with regards to the riders position, however we were limited due to the condition of the bowls (very damp and slippy) and only one or two of those shots will actually be used by identity eventually.

Nice work there, some great shots at the outdoor site. How many guns were you using?
 
As I said above, I was using 2 Nikon SB24 strobes fired wirelessly with Pocketwizards.
I like to shoot two (normally cross lit) so that the light wraps around the subject to really make them pop from the frame. Using this method you can also use the spill light to add detail to other features of the frame, such as the foreground in photo #4.

Were off to Corby tomorow for a lil sesh, im taking my cam and flash so hopefully some nice pics if it aint busy
 
What is the deal with shooting at Corby? I live not too far away and fancy going there to take pics.
 
It's free to take photos and you have nothing to sign, I just turn up and shoot away.

I would suggest however you go there with some friends who ride. Just turning up and snapping away at people who you don't know might not be the best idea, purely out of courtesy than anything else.
 
I really like the composition and lighting in #4.
Not to keen on the crookedness of the first few though, sorry.
