rechargeable Batteries

i bought vapextech batteries from a uk reseller (ebay id is vapextech). these batteries seem to get good reviews, and give good performance for the cost.

Because the lose their charge far slower than regular rechargeables
Ta for that.

Personally I have bought as high a power rechargeable available, for a reasonable price, on 7Dayshop and have found them cheap and reliable.

The chargers are cheap too. I got 8 x AA 2500 mAh Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries and a charger for about £15 about a month ago.

Personally buy normal Duracell as experience with rechargeables is that they dont last

I have UniRoss Hybrios, same as the eneloops. Always take spare normal Duracell as I dont find they last as long :(

Why not get a spare set of rechargables and keep them charged and in the bag? Surely cheaper than Duracells in the long (and short!) run

I now have a spare set (again the hybrid ones but cant remember the make from LCE) but I think that for the weight of 4 standard AA's its worth packing them.

tbh I dont use the flash much anyway but when I do it gets hammered as I am very snappy happy!!

I will be doing another indoor shoot soon and will give both sets a really good test :naughty:

Good round up of batteries here:

the Hybrios are rated at 2100mAh so last a bit longer than the eneloop:

Sanyo eneloop 2000AA, out of the box (5 months old) - 184.66 mins

Sanyo eneloop 12th charge - 216.91 mins

UNiROSS Hybrio 2100AA, out of the box (dosent say how old) - 198.66 mins

UNiROSS Hybrio 2100AA, 12th charge - 241.5 mins

Not sure what equipment they are doing the test on but I assume it is a constant drain over the time given.

I find it a real pain that NiCd and NiMH cells self discharge so fast so now use Eneloops. I also carry a set of Duracells as a backup. (Not to self - charge Eneloops and replace spare Duracells!!!)
