I'll can't work it out unless it's the wrong one

Sorry i've never used one. but i guess the 3 pin plug uses the USB cable to plug into the charger? If it physically doesnt fit then perhaps they screwed up the order! Hope you get it sorted soon!!

on the manual it has a plug in on charger for a small socket, but mine has a metal bit that pulls out

Hard to tell but it looks like you have a 2-pin charger and the seller has provided you with a 3-pin adapter for use in the UK. Is it an import?

All you need to check is the voltage rating on the charger if it says 110-240 it's is world wide so just get A U.S. Adapter for

Charger should be fine, I think it's common practice for imports (in my experience anyway) to come with a 3-pin adapter for use in the UK. Is that 3-pin plug a US to UK adapter?

Correct.
I had several appliances from Europe and they all came with that kind of adapters.
It should work without any problems.

You can just plug that charger into a US/UK adaptor to get u up and running for now. Then ask them to replace!

Actually sorry, Minnnt's suggestion makes more sense if they already provided the plug!

That's normal for pretty much all Grey importers, they buy the kit, open the box & put in a shaver adapter

There are two types of chargers. That one and he that has a lead that plugs into the charger. This version is more common in grey imports. Nothing to worry about, just need to use the 3 pin adapter

This is what you might have although a 3 pin looking one (im in France) The charger body will plug into the top of this.
