Recommend to me a good CF Card reader preferable USB 3

I have had cheap ones in the past:) whats a decent one - I would like fast USB3 for raw transfers - a bit slow on my current cheap USB2 card reader...

Cheers

As above- I just got the lexar pro recently and it's really good- quick and well designed. Well worth it.

Do have USB 3 sockets on your PC/Mac?

The USB chain will only work as fast as the slowest connection, be that the card reader/camera, memory card or USB sockets on your computer.

But I'm sure you knew that. ;)

USB 3 would be a wise choice anyway to future proof a system.

Will be building a new Z68 system week after next......

This site is great resource and a wealth of experience:thumbs:

Defo the lexar one in the second link, doesn't matter if you don't have usb it'll still be fine running under usb 2

Yep, I have that one. Very good though my laptop doesn't have USB 3.0 capabilities.

Just bouncing this thread, as I've just got the Lexar reader (see post 2) and it's great. Even with my older 30MB/s cards there's a 65% increase in reading speed over my old reader (surprisingly my Sandisk Extreme 3 4 gb cards significantly exceed their read specification - tested with Bench32).

Although I've tested it with a USB 3 port, I assume it'd be quick with USB 2 as well, which is rated to 480 MB/s
