Recommend a filters tutorial

[PatrickO]

Can anyone recommend a comprehensive online tutorial on the use of filters for landscape work. Either here or elsewhere on the web.

I'm a complete newbie with filters - so info on how the different systems fit onto a lens, what the various filters do and when (and when not) to use would all be useful.

Many thanks in advance.

Patrick

Sorry to bump, but can anyone help?

I don't know of anything that's comprehensive as the variety and usage are enormous. However, whenever I get something new I always head to YouTube and do a search there. More often than not, I'll find a good video tutorial that explains as good as, if not better, than having to read so much (I'm more of a visual learner :shrug.

Anyway, I did a quick search and found these out ...

Use of filters for Landscape photography

Use of Circular Polariser for landscape

Use of ND filters

Use of GND filters

Flick through these, you will find some that are good to get you up to speed. I hope these are of helpful .

Thanks Wail. I'll take a look at those. Also found some stuff on Ken Rockwell's site, but his style is rather...how shall I put it...individual

Personally, I like Uncle Ken's input; it's very entertaining
