recommend a shoulder bag

hi all, looking to get a bag to keep my gear safe. Have a d5000 with a couple of lenses and a remote.

i'm actually usually more fond of shoulder bags rather than rucksacks but are these considered less safe?

Ideally i wouldn't want to spend more than about £40...thanks!
 
i have been looking at messenger type bags recently and have been recomended the lowepro messenger & the crumpler muffin top 5000
 
I really like the crumpler bags, they are pretty expensive compared to the rest but are well made. The biggest peice of advice is to always buy a bag big enough to fit one more lens in and also try the bag out so get to a crumpler shop and see if your kit fits in the bag, the website sizes are a little difficult to work it all out with 2 bodys and 4 lenses means very littel when your putting long or wide apperture lenses in there. I have carried my crumpler new delhi all over the place and had no problems time I thought may be I just fastened the clips so the flap couldn't be opened so easily.
 
thanks guys, decided to order The Crumpler Muffin Top 7500 Photo Bag Olive / Orange from ebay. Only 36.99 which seems pretty good as it gets glowing reviews.
 
Crumpler is a good choice to go with, I used to use the Muffin Top 4000 which wasn't big enough for me anymore so upgraded but they are good build and stylish :thumbs:
 
Well, it's not a trendy "tog" brand but it's well padded and holds a lot of kit:

I've used mine extensively for a couple of years, it takes a gripped Canon body or pro body and several lenses, for example 70-200, 16-35 and 50mm together inside. I put 4 cased filters in the end pockets, spare batteries a-plenty, together with notepad, CF cards, bits and bobs.

I've fitted mine with a waist strap for trips when I don't want to shoulder the bag. I think the black colour helps keep things discreet.
