I've been asked for work to spec a camera... And I thought you'd be the most knowledgable? :)

1) Must be compact.
2) Pics must be get-off-able with just a USB cable - no special software.
3) Allows for decent cpaacity.
4) No interchangable lenses!
5) Very simple to operate.
6) high resolution.

So, what would you guys reccommend? :)

Thanks. :)

That pretty much covers every modern point-and-shoot I'm afraid! Most come with software, but if you don't want to use it, buy a cheap USB card reader, windows will recognise it and you don't even have to plug the camera in, it just comes up in my computer!

Agreed, nearly any digi camera will do all that:

1) Any old compact digital, seriously.
2) Most have the option of that, or of course you can use a card reader as said
3) Is all about the SD card you buy, I think most now will give you the option oh HC cards so you could use a 32gb card, which I think in fine JPG standard 12ish megapixel camera will give you... 6500 photos or more.
4) Any compacts
5) Nearly any compacts
6) Pretty much any camera nowadays.

How good a photos does it need to take though? And will you be using it? If very very good and yes, try and persuade them to get a bridge or low end dslr for the fun of using it :D

Is it for travelling and do you need a viewfinder?

A budget would be a massive help as it would narrow down the field from every compact currently on the market to every compact in the given range!

Canon Powershot A1100 IS. Great little camera with viewfinder and takes AA batteries which is ideal for travelling because you can always have spares in your pocket without worying about recharging. 12 megapixel, 4 times zoom and plenty of manual features if you want to play.
