...for around the £200 mark.

not really fussed on any particular features, though wi-fi might be useful.

really just a holiday/casual camera to be able to whip out of a pocket and take pics... but something with a bit of DSLR-type manual setting flexibility would be good.

I've not kept up-to-date in the last 18months or so for what the latest, grooviest compact cameras are :)
(not one a hybrid/bridge/compact system camera, just a straightforward all-in-one compact)

Ideally something which is available now... the Ixus 140 looks nice, but will want it before then :thumbs:
 
A Canon S95 off ebay?

I got an S90 some time ago for this very reason and have to say it does the job. For your budget you should be able to get the newer one....:thumbs:

Bought the new Canon S110 from panamoz for £247 including shipping and replacement warranty, bit more than £200 but like the s95/100 before it, a great little camera.
 
The canons usually win compact reviews but i like cybershots.
