As the title says I've got a maximum budget of £300, dont mind buying secondhand.
Getting into water drop collisions and general macro stuff, must be 1:1.

What do you experts reckon I should spend my money on?

Canon 100mm f2.8 macro. Just within your budget second-hand with 3 months warranty. LINK.

Just to say that link isn't the USM model, so the focusing will be slower and noisier, though optically still fantastic - if you spent another £20-£40 you could acquire the USM model.

Thanks guys, That is the one of the lens'(?) I've been looking at along with the ef-s 60mm which also gets good reviews and can be had a bit cheaper. Decisions decisions!

First off, Joe's right - go for the USM version. I didn't even know there was a non-USM.

As for 60mm vs 100mm, the main difference is the longer working distance of the 100. It'll mean fewer splashes on the lens.

Thanks for the help lads, 100mm it will be then :-)

Just want to say cheers guys, picked up a 100mm macro usm from these very forums for £280 :-)

Thanks for the recommendation its great - hopefully I'll have time to use it this weekend!
