Can anyone recommend me a portrait photography book? I'm particularly interested in on location rather than studio work.

What I want to able to do is to take reasonable pictures of my family and friends in and around their homes, rather than just snapshots of them which is what I keep getting at the moment.

Actually, it doesn't have to be a book, any sort of training material would be OK, so web based tutorials would be fine too.

This will give you some handy hints. There are a few books about but i think you're always better getting some free tips.

Thanks scottduffy, this website had some good tips. I've spent half an hour taking pictures of my daughter, and they were definitely getting better by the end.

Ken Rockwell agrees - http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/books.htm

Thanks Adam, I haven't ordered a book as yet, but I'll definitely take your advice into account.
