Hello all

Heading to Iceland at the end of the month but my manfrotto 055 tripod wont fit in my luggage bag as Im not taking any extra cases.

As I only need a tripod for a one off trip is there anything cheap(ish) and small, its to take a 5d and 17-40 lens

I dont mean dirt cheap but a happy medium as such?

How about something like a Pod? http://www.thepod.ca/

Screws into the tripod hole and supports the rig. Combine it with a grit/gravel stuffed plastic bag (to hold the gritty gravel) inside a sock (to protect the lens barrel) and use it on any available natural supports.

Have a great trip - look forward to seeing the shots since I'm off there next month with the TP crew. I have a Giottos Vitruvian CF tripod for travel but it wasn't cheap. The Manfrotto travel range is relatively cheap IIRC.
 
that looks great and ive never seen it before so thanks for that, although I think for this trip I need a tripod, will look at the manfrotto range, pitty the photography show wasnt a month sooner!!!
 
I was looking at the befree in calumet today but it was £150 which was a lot more than I was wanting to spend for a one off trip , do you know of anywhere selling them much cheaper ?
