I think the time has come to insure my gear + macbook pro. I have 1Ds2 + 40D and a bunch of lenses. Quite a few of them were bought 2nd hand (over here and fleabay) so I do not have all the receipts.
I would like to get a cover at home and outdoors; public liability cover would be a bonus. Is there anything that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and would do the job? Has anyone got experience with the claims (I hope I won't ever have to!)

Do a search on here and keep away from E & L. ;) Lots of threads about insurance..

Kev.

Ive just gone through the AA for my home insurance (contents only as i rent), £50k worth of cover and £5k of unspecified items under £1500 (lenses and macbook) plus the 1DMk3 listed at £2.5k (£7.5K total) all covered away from home with accidental damage and its cost me £190 a year.

I got quotes from a lot of specialist company's for just the camera eqpt was nearly the same.
