Yes
Well I just picked up my 5D for a shoot and a piece of plastic that sits above the mirror fell out!! not sure how to go about tackling this one, should I have a go myself at putting it back or let the pro's do it, If I let them do it, do you know or could you recommend a place to take it?

I seem to remember a recall from Canon about the mirrors on the 5D. Free fix I think, if of course it's the same thing.

is it this one LINK

You know, I always thought progress meant to move foreward. Take the Canon F1n, You just slide the AE finder off, and lift the BL****Y focus screen out. near 2000 quid and you get lumbered with a 5D. Why couldn`t Canon just use this system on the 5D ? It`s time we nuked them again.

It's quite easy, ***' fiddly to get back if it's the focus screen. Here's instructions on how to fit one of the split screen replacements. Same principles.

Yep, its definitely that, holy fiddly plastic batman! Not sure I can bring myself to ram a modelling knife into my camera but I might have a go....... I don't seem to have as many bits as the post shows though? ah well.
