Hi all,

Completely new to the world of tripods.

I need a tripod that will support a hasselblad kit - probs weighs similar to a gripped D700 and large-ish lens. It'll be used for long-exposures often on the roadside, so are there any models that go towards 1) not being blown side to side 2) absorb the up n down motion caused by wind and cars

weight isn't a massive factor but would prefer something as small as possible to get the job done.

Budget, and what lens are you using? For instance the 50mm Distagon weighs significantly more than the 80mm Planar, so it needs to be factored in if you want to buy one in the future

Could probably pick up a Manfrotto 190 for that sort of price, not the smallest but it's pretty damn stable. Failing that a Giottos Vitruvian folds away to about 45cm and is stable enough for an RB67!

I think there is a 190 in the classifieds at the moment (not mine)
