$RECYCLE.BIN

I have noticed over the last few days that some of my hard drives have suddenly started to show a file $RECYCLE.BIN
This applies to the 2nd drive in my laptop and some of my external drives (USB to Icybox docks) ... why are these here and is it safe to delete them?

Each drive has its own recycle bin, usually a hidden folder, have you clicked a box in the settings to show hidden items?

Ah yes, I did that for a specific check a few days ago ... thank you.

I have found that the "rogue" file mirrors the main Recycle Bin contents.
