Off to FOS in the morning, and the Red Arrows are scheduled for a display at 11.30.

Now, Im actually quite excited about this, as Ive never actually seen them do a display, AND I will have my camera with me.

Any hints, tips and tricks on shooting the Arrows ?

Any idea where at Goodwood will give the best view of the display ?

Cheers in advance.

I can't give advice on the location other than we were at the top of the hill through the woods where the rally stage runs last year, and we saw naff all of the display. I would assume being on the bottom end of the hillclimb run is the better spot, although others may well advise elsewhere.

Other than that spot metering, fast shutter speed (1/1000 upwards). When they go to cross I am assuming (others might help here as I've never managed it effectively) you need to narrow the aperture a bit (I think I am too open to pull off this shot at 2.8/5.6).

Somewhere around the house should give the best views (unless you can somehow manage to be in the car park before they close it). Anywhere else just gets blocked out by the trees.

:)

My funniest shot from Southport air show last year took me ages to line it up
